Fermentation and Functional Health

with Cheryl Paswater

February 19th | 7:00 pm EST via Zoom

We will dig into the nuance and detail of gut health. We will discuss leaky gut, overgrowths, toxins and other common problems expressed by students that led Cheryl to her functional medicine practice, we'll talk about when fermented foods aren't ideal in the diet, and a framework for stewarding the gut that starts to become more adaptive and responsive for whole health and wellness.

Cheryl Paswater is a Functional Medicine Practitioner, Health Coach, and Master Fermentationist, as well as a podcast co-host, educator, sous chef, artist, and writer. Cheryl’s own healing journey led her to fermentation and that journey led her to Health Coaching and then to Functional Medicine. Her own healing journey led her to help people reclaim their health, happiness, vitality, and become their strongest selves.

Alongside being a Functional Medicine Health Coach, Cheryl co-hosts the podcast Peeling the Onion Podcast on health and wellness and previously co-organized the NYC Ferments Meetup and NYC Fermentation Festival. She has been a contributing writer to several books on fermentation. Cheryl is Certified in Applied Functional Medicine from the School of Applied Functional Medicine specializing in Gut Health, the Microbiome and Environmental Toxicity, a member of AADP (American Association of Drugless Practitioners), Certified Health Coach, trained in Muscle Testing, and is a Certified Master Fermentationist.

You can find her teaching workshops and speaking on fermentation and health at in person workshops, online classes, and at festivals both regionally and internationally. She lives in Atlanta, GA.
